There is the SS Toren was talking about. Its explainable in that I had just killed a mob with spikes and on the last hit its spikes proced and killed me as well. Since the spikes proced after my hit the mob was already dead and it gave the "kill" to me.

There is no good explanation for why a mob would cure me though.
