Looks interesting but Vougier's contus which is the best none magian weapon you can get for drg still has 8 dmg more with 10 attack and increases double attack after jumps, which i think it might still win vs this but does look like a very nice drakesbane polearm would have to test to see how it compares if we can ever get our hands on one.
Weapon/shield discoveries (not sure what "Shield size x" means):
Different sizes block and reduce damage at different rates. I think smaller shields block more often but reduce less, while bigger blocks less but reduces more. Size 3 is a Kite shield type I think (triangular looking ones).
Yeah that lance is interesting. For comparison, the str magian is D116, Del480 str9, atk+24 (30.75atk w/str).
It is a solid lance, but not head and shoulders above anything. It will perform very well against high defense targets with the huge atk bonus and crit rate (crits 'ignore' def in a manner of speaking). It should also do pretty well in abyssea since the base damage wont hurt WS so much when so much of our WS damage is from the retarded amount of +str you get in there minimizing the effect of weapon base damage a bit, but atk still just as powerful inside or out since its a % boost to all damage, and crit rate boost in abyssea is hawt with the crit+damage stuff. Also, the multi-hit atmas (VV, Apoc etc) water down the effect of multi hit gear including the OAT lance and Vougiers DA effect.
Its pretty good overall. I just dont see it being the 'best' all the time. Another situational lance if you have other top end weapons to rotate based on situation. Of course to any drg without them, any number of magian, vougiers will be the goal. This is just another on that list now at 1st glance.

How that fits in with Raja/Epona/Demonry for thf.....i dunno. Thats gonna be a hard choice and probably hinge on how much the damage bonus actually is. Other jobs would only really get any use out of it with apoc on, but still nice i spose.
