Update 11:51 - A previous version of this story made it sound like the FFXI discount applies to all FFXI players. The discount is only for those who also have a FFXIV account.

When creating a new FINAL FANTASY XIV character, FINAL FANTASY XI players’ character names will be prioritized. The character’s name will become “Given Name: the Player Character’s name in FINAL FANTASY XI” + “Surname: the name of the Player Character’s World.”
For example: FINAL FANTASY XI Player Character name: Destiny
Player Character’s FINAL FANTASY XI World name: Odin
Usable name in FINAL FANTASY XIV: Destiny Odin
Their example sounds like a porn star or call girl's name.
And there's no way I want Lakshmi to be my last name in FFXIV.
Can you imagine the poor people on Unicorn server? "OHAI GUIZE, MY NAME IS xxCLOUDxx UNICORN!"
